DA wants mental exam for murder suspect |

The Franklin County District Attorney wants a judge to order a mental evaluation for a murder suspect. Michael McLemore is accused of shooting and killing his parents and attacking his aunt and uncle with a hammer.

He faces two counts of capital murder and two counts of attempted murder.

The attacks happened in September of 2011 in Phil Campbell.

Prosecutors say McLemore has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. They say McLemore has been examined by his defense team's psychiatrist, but they do not know his findings.

McLemore's trial is set for October 15th at the Franklin County Courthouse in Russellville.
