Pre-school reading program resumes at public library | Community Spirit
Children from birth to the beginning of school often get their first experiences with books by their involvement with the pre-school reading programs.
Every Wednesday, October through May, children can come to the Russellville Public Library at 11:30 a.m. to listen to a story, create a craft and have a treat.
Don't let the joy of reading stop after storytime. Capture your child's interest by letting them roam the shelves and pick a book they think they will like - even if they pick it just by how the book looks, this is a prime chance to teach them to "don't judge a book by its cover!"
If your kids respond with excitment when you tell them it's time to go to the library for storytime, make sure they get to take the excitement home by teaching them about the opportunities provided by a library card.
There is a wonderful world of books to explore, and the pre-school reading program helps offer that world to your little ones.
